Come to the National Festival in Jonesborough, Tennessee, a day early so you can participate in NSN’s annual National Story Night.
Enjoy diverse stories and music from Southern Appalachian, Native American, and African American traditions. Our 2009 concert will feature national tellers:

Please take time to thank these tellers for being our Storytelling Heroes in donating their time and talent to serve National Storytelling Network members. All proceeds from the concert go to benefit NSN’s Member Grants program, awarding grants to worthy storytelling projects.
Honoring 2009 Oracle Award Recipients
Immediately following this year’s concert, NSN will honor our 2009 Oracle Award recipients. Also new this year, we will conduct a live Fringe lottery to determine the fringe performers for our 2010 conference in Los Angeles, California.
The concert and awards celebration will take place beginning at 7:00 pm in the Library tent (next to the Jonesborough library). Tickets are just $15 for adults and $10 for students/seniors. If you are unable to be in attendance, please consider donating to the evening in honor of a storyteller who has inspired you! National Story Night is produced by the National Storytelling Network as a grant fundraiser and is independent of the National Storytelling Festival.
Online ticket sales is now closed.
Tickets will be available at the visitors center until 5 pm Thursday and then at the Library tent beginning at 6 pm Thursday. You can also purchase your tickets by phone through the Jonesborough Visitors Center at 423-753-1010
All National Story Night proceeds go directly to support the NSN Member Grants program, providing funding for the development of individual work, collaborative projects, community-based storytelling programs, or scholarly research. Currently National Story Night is the ONLY source of funding for this program, so if you are unable to attend, donations are much appreciated. You may choose to donate in honor or memory of a beloved storyteller, which can be made public upon request.
